You already know a lot of this, but Paul offers two specific examples and something even better: Clearly, he’s going to keep after the media for dogging Republicans on abortion and whatever else, while showing no interest whatsoever in the complete and obvious hypocrisy of Bill Clinton’s Wife as she feigns concern for “women and girls” while taking money from the very people who keep them in bondage.
Watch, via the Daily Signal:
Traditional consultant types hate this, of course, as do members of the media themselves for obvious reasons. I was talking to a guy last week – longtime PR consultant and former station manager of a CBS affiliate – reference how Paul had “stepped in it” with his initial challenge to the media concerning their badgering over abortion when they wouldn’t ask similar questions to Debbie Wasserman Schultz. To him, it wasn’t even a question. He even said to me, word for word as if I’d never heard it before, “You don’t pick fights with people who buy ink by the barrel.”
That’s been conventional wisdom in the media and political worlds for decades, and the more I think about it, the more convinced I am it’s one of the dumbest notions I’ve ever heard – especially today.
First of all, Republicans don’t have to start a fight with the media. The media started the fight decades ago. The question is whether you’re going to roll over and take it or fight back. And with today’s technology making it possible to reach mass audiences with your message in a way that doesn’t rely on the media, it’s never made less sense to roll…………MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
